The Harborwalk

The Belfast Harborwalk is a great place to enjoy views of the water as well as tons of boats, both in the water and in dry dock. Shown above is the bridge that crosses the water. This is an amazing place to get photos of boats in the water, birds, and other forms of life happening on or near the water.

On the western end, there is more walking you can do across the wooden planks that cover the walk along the water’s edge. Here you’ll find water on one side and the shipyard as well as many dry-docked boats on the other.

Best Local Picks

These are my personal favorites and recommendations.

The Moody Dog

As a local, I frequent the area often. One of my favorite pitstops is a place called The Moody Dog. At first glance, you might think it’s just another hot dog stand. But you would be very, VERY wrong. These dogs are the absolute best!

They are located downtown in what appears to be a permanently placed food truck at 39 Main Street. They have a dizzying list of different ways you can enjoy a simple hot dog. The menu is impressive, and the dogs are out of this world!

Catch them here on Facebook.

Daily Soup

This tiny little kitchen might barely let you in the door (It’s about one step inside the door to the counter), but their soup is absolutely wonderful. And if you happen to be in Belfast on a chilly day, their soups are bound to warm you up fast! They also have delicious vegan options!
Find them at 118 High Street
Check their website here for store hours.

Best Vegan Eats In Belfast Maine

If the above-mentioned soup stop doesn’t sound good, here are a few options for vegan eaters in Belfast. Call ahead to see what vegan options they have.

Laan Xang

As a side note, I’ve eaten here and they are wonderful! They are also very Covid conscious so bring a mask and expect to do business from behind a wall of plastic. Some folks will love this, some will hate it. But I’m here to tell you that no matter where you fall in that regard, the food is worth it!
